This scoping review evaluates, synthesizes, and displays 20 studies on coding curriculum in early childhood published in 2012–2021, involving curriculum design, coding platforms, pedagogical approaches, research methods, and research findings. However, how the coding curriculum has been designed and used in ECE settings, as well as its effectiveness, is understudied. The proliferation of innovative coding platforms, especially screen-free programmable robotics, has made it possible for coding to be integrated into early childhood education (ECE). Note: since Windows 7 does not support Bluetooth low energy, the BLED112 Bluetooth Smart Dongle is required.Coding (or computer programming) helps equip children with an intellectual structure that is valuable for their lifelong learning and development. Note: Pairing needs to be done from settings, and notįrom inside the app as on other operating systems. Still seeing unexpected behaviours on some devices, and are working on

Development on Windows 10 and Chrome is progressing with an expected launch in June. All known issues have been solved and v1.2 is now live in app stores (iTunes, Windows store and google play) and on LERO ( ).

I posted this list on the LEGO Engineering Facebook group, but for anyone who hasn't seen it, LEGO Education have now shared the following about WeDo 2.0 support for the various platforms.

We were using iPads, and they worked well, but it's worth mentioning that you do need a device that support Bluetooth low energy (e.g. I think that whether it's suitable or not for a particular school now depends as much on the platform being used.Īfter seeing WeDo 2.0 introduced to 60+ primary teachers across two workshops last week, I was stunned by how easy it was for the teachers to get started, particularly in terms of the curriculum support built into the software. I agree it's a very detailed and honest review, but I think that's a much too simplistic conclusion to draw.
